Post first cycle review appointment

Hi all just looking for a bit of advice with our next steps towards a second cycle.

So we had our first cycle, 2 embryos put back on day2 after EC and none frozen - we didn’t have any make it to day 5 blastocyst. They transferred on day2 because when they graded them, they thought we’d end up with none in day5. The cycle unfortunately ended in bfn.

We have a review appointment with the clinic to discuss next steps (we want to try another cycle). Are there any particular questions I should be asking, any tests I should be pushing for at this stage?
Our first cycle was nhs, we now have to pay. We think we’ll stay with our clinic for now, but we might want to look round for another.

I’m guessing it was partly an egg quality issue, so should probably be asking what more I can do to improve that.
Any advice on what to expect or what to ask would be very appreciated!

I regret not paying for L1/L2 tests immediately after our NHS cycle (Consultant waited until we had one more failed transfer) as the treatment found out that I had ovulation AND implantation issues (thyroid / clotting factor) AND immune issues associated with my thyroid. So that’s what I’d recommend here. They cost approx 2k but it works out a lot cheaper than a failed transfer in most clinics

Thanks for the reply @TeddyBear45. The thyroid has already been tested on me so I’m on levothyroxine for that. It’s helpful to know that there are some tests we should push for having where they might not want to bother!

I'd definitely push for all the tests possible - my first round ended in a miscarriage and the consultant put it down as one of those things. I've just had a second miscarriage (with an unsuccessful FET in between) and really wish I'd tested everything possible.

The other thing I'd say is give your body time to recover before starting again.
