HCG level 5 10dp5dt

Hi all just looking for some advice, we transferred a grade a blast on day five, I had what I thought was implantation bleeding day 3. Negative tests day 6,7,8 blood was taken today which is day 10 and clinic phoned to say my level was below 20 which means a negative but my level was a 5 when she expected it to be below 1 so they want to repeat bloods in two days time? Nurse wasn’t overly clear, but just thought it looked like something had happened. I am wondering does this sound like a possible chemical pregnancy? Or could I have a base line hcg level of 5? I just thought today out blood test would confirm a negative result and we could move on but I’m left with more questions than ans. This is our 2nd go with icsi. BFN first go. Thanks I’m advance

Hi do you mind me asking how old you are? Older women often have a higher natural baseline hcg than younger women x

Hi thanks for the quick reply, I’m 27 years old and it’s MFI, just trying to make sense of the number I’m not expecting it to go up, just curious if it possibly means it tried to implant or could it be chemical. X

so are you 10 days post 5 day transfer?
As you're pretty young you could just have implanted later than you think or just have a really slow grower in there ? If you took implantation day as day 1 with a starting level of 1 and normal hcg doubling time of 2 days.....

3dp5dt - 1 hcg
5dp5dt - 2 hcg
7dp5dt - 4 hcg
9dp5dt - 8 hcg
11dp5dt - 15 hcg

Of course a chemical is also possible but normally people tend to get a couple of days of positive tests before then getting negatives and with a blood hcg of only 5 even a First Response isn't likely to be positive yet x

Ok thank you for that. Yep I'm 10 days past 5day transfer. I'm not bleeding or anything yet so just hold out and see what blood test says on Thursday xx
