Do I have OHSS after egg collection?

Hi

I’m abroad for ivf, I had my egg collection a couple of days ago and now today have noticed I feel short of breath when I lay down, I am bloated and had 25 is it follicles initially so I’m worried this is the onset. Has anyone had it? Thanks

Hi @Mommaof2x hadn't scan today and EC for Wednesday. I also have 25 follicles, they told me if 15 or more eggs are collected to call them to arrange a blood test. How many eggs did they collect?

I had 17 eggs, so I’ve noticed I get the breathing thing and it’s when I’m laying flat, on a pillow it’s ok, at night I am peeing a lot but suppose that’s removing fluid, I will tell them tomorrow, it’s hard as i’m a couple of hours drive away from them. My next visit is meant to be day 5 transfer. How are you doing?

Keep drinking - it is really important to stay hydrated. Hope it goes OK when they check you out tomorrow.

I got the same. I was told to drink Coconut water instead of normal water and go straight to A&E.

I’m ok apparently it’s hormonal changes, I’ve found the constipation painful, generally just waves of exhaustion and nausea but again they said that’s normal

@Mommaof2x glad it's not OHSS! Hopefully you'll feel better soon. Hormones can be awful things

@Mommaof2x 22 eggs, gotta measure fluid in and out and blood tests Friday and Monday. I feel much better after collection though, far less bloated!!

@DaisyMay25 wow that is a lot, good number.... hopefully you remain ok in symptoms of OHSS too. I had 18, which went to 12 then to 8, waiting to hear for day 5, I’m ok just feel how I did in first tri of pregnancy.

I wasn't diagnosed with OHSS until after transfer, I had less eggs than previous cycles but it was all to do with oestrogen levels and then I conceived twins which made it worse, it was a worrying time and I was really unwell, the main symptom was the bloating and pain

@MissSmiley thanks for letting us know, I am worried its not the end of it. We’re your pain and bloating symtoms constant once you got them or on and off? I should be back in the UK if it happens which I prefee

They were constant and got worse before they got better, they wanted to admit me to hospital but I refused because of my 15 month old. I had to monitor waist measurement and urine output daily
