Experience of Fertility Clinic in Scotland

Hello,
My husband and I have been trying to conceive since Nov 2017. In January we went to the GP and had some of the initial tests done - bloods and sperm analysis. Both results came back normal with my pro-lactin slightly elevated but I had that done again later on and it was fine.
So, now we have our first appointment at the fertility clinic in April. I just wondered what to expect? What are people's experiences?
I'm in need of some hope 😓
Thanks in advance x

Your first appointment will involve a lot of information gathering by the consultant - be prepared to answer lots of questions about cycle length, dates, symptoms. We also got asked about how often we have sex. I got an internal ultrasound at the first appointment too, so be prepared that might happen! I think the main thing to be prepared for is the huge amount of waiting. I think we waited 3 months for the first appointment, a couple of months for a few scans etc, then another 5 months for follow up appointment. We were told we were 'unexplained' so are now on 1 year IVF waiting list (we were in Edinburgh). The waiting is torture, so I would find some hobbies you love, book weekends away etc. and keep yourself as busy as possible. Good luck!
