"Day 21" results - how low?

I collected my "day 21" results today. For context, my cycle is on average 31 days. I had a positive OPK on 12th Feb, so assumed I ov'd on the 13th (CD16). I had the blood test exactly a week later on 20th. I have an LP of 15 days, so AF due next Friday.

I haven't had an appointment with the doctor yet, that's next Thursday.

So, the result was 26.9 nmol/L.

From a google search, it seems 30 is minimum for ovulation but 50 is ideal?

What do you think my next steps will be?

I've seen mixed messages about the right figure for ovulation. I thought 30 which you're not far off but have read anything over 20 indicates ovulation.

From my experience, the GP sent me off for tests and once they were all back (plus my dh's SA) he was happy to send off the fertility clinic referral.

Have you had any other tests? It may be that your GP will want to retest you to check. What I would say is that I thought that you needed your cd21 test 7 days before af (not 7dpo), so it's possible you went a bit early if your af isn't due until next Friday.

I was referred to the fertility clinic with a reading of 17.

Thanks. This was the first test. I have an appointment with the GP next week. Next step I think will be CD2 test and SA for DH.

I'm still hoping we will get pregnant without the need for too much intervention.

I wondered if anyone had improved their progesterone levels and had a happy ending?

I'm thinking clomid may be an option?

If your cycle is 31 days then the day 21 test should be carried out on day 24, if you were out it was only by one day so I'd say the result was fairly reliable.

The first test I had the result was 24.9, the GP said 15-30 was 'equivocal' and referred me to fertility clinic. The next month my result was 42, suggesting I ovulate some months.
On Clomid I did ovulate according to progesterone results (I wasn't offered any tracking scans although many clinics do this and it makes sense to do so).
My dosage was increased after a few months.

I also bought progesterone over the counter on holiday as in my case it seemed that my progesterone dipped too soon after ovulation.

Clomid can help many people. I guess your next steps depend on how long you've been TTC, your age and if there are any other issues.

Clomid is quite powerful stuff and should only be prescribed if there is definitive proof you are not ovulating.

The day 21 is only part of the picture; what should have been done initially is a day 2 test (with these being repeated) to show what your LH and FSH levels are like. If these are awry then progesterone levels can be affected.

I was told before I did it that if mine had been low we’d have done a re-test. It was 34 which isn’t that high but she was happy that that confirmed ovulation.
