Delayed ovulation after egg collection

Hi
Just wondering if it's usual to have delayed ovulation after egg collection?
I had egg collection on the 29th January followed by a period/bleeding about 5 days later. If I say that day 1 of that was like day 1 of a usual period that would make me cycle day 10 today but ovulation doesn't seem like it's no where near coming??

Forget your normal cycle. Goes completely out the window when you IVF.
Mine was days out (not much) but some are out by weeks x

Yes, I’m surprised your clinic didn’t prepare you for this. I think the meds can mess up your cycle (some more than others). In same position, I had a bleed after egg collection and freeze all and then didn’t get my next period until almost 60 days later. I think the length of time I had to wait was longer than what most have to. Hoping things happen for you soon. I know how frustrating the waiting is when you just want to crack on!

The clinic didn't say anything at all about that or when I would get the post egg collection bleed which was also a surprise!
I guess I'm still a bit naive about the whole process - I did short protocol so stims and trigger only so I guess I thought things would return to normal almost straight away x

Give your clinic a call and ask them. I could be wrong about your case because I was on long protocol. I had a prostap injection that effectively put me into a menopausal state so that they could take over control with the meds. It was this that the nurses said could delay AF afterwards and it certainly did for me! Are you just waiting for AF to get the ball rolling on FET?

Yes just waiting for AF so we can do a FET - freeze all was unexpected as OHSS is supposed to be really rare on short protocol mild ivf but it was just my luck! X

Here’s hoping you don’t have to wait too long! I felt like that when I had to have a freeze all. Looking back it was the best thing to happen for me, my first FET was successful and I am currently 19 weeks. I hope you get to tell a similar story 🤞x

Sorry I know this is an old post but I'm just waiting to ovulate now. Had collection in November (freeze all due to OHSS). My period was delayed by about 2/3 weeks so I presume that's why I've not ovulated yet. Worried in case I don't ovulate at all this month. How long was your ovulation delayed by?

From what I remember of this cycle I actually ended up getting cycle day 1 of my period the Wednesday my follow up was booked for and then ovulated as normal 2 weeks later

Mine was a short protocol cycle though which is known not to "mess" with cycles as much as long protocol

My second IVF cycle my period came back bang on schedule after egg collection too

Thank you for your response. Just really hoping I ovulate soon so I can get booked in for FET. I just wondered because it delayed my period if my ovulation would be delayed too. Will keep testing. Hopefully get a positive tomorrow. Hate the waiting!
