Ectopic? Miscarriage? For how long?

Posted on conception board, but no answer. After 1.5 years of ttc with various drugs (metformin, thyroxine, ovasitole, vitamins) finally got BFF on cd60! My hcg
16dpo - hcg 80,
17dpo - hcg 80, progesterone 39 pmol/l
19dpo - hcg 77.
I have no symptoms, no bleeding, no pain.
Nurse said probably a miscarriage but may also be ectopic. They asked me to come back in a week for another blood test.
I’m worried that my pregnancy tests have been the same line for at least 12 days now (test line not darker not lighter, so I guess I’ve been stuck at that circa 80 hcg level for almost two weeks now), and I haven’t tested prior to that.
How long can it take for hcg to drop or for me to get bleeding?
I’m really upset and this waiting is killing me..

I have had miscarriages and ectopics....the fact your hcg isn't falling is concerning and usually and indicator of PUL or ectopic....you may not get a bleed with either of those. Look out for one sided pain (which is unbearable to the point you can't walk) or shoulder tip pain or even rectal pain - if you get those go straight to a&e.

If it's a miscarriage you should start to bleed in a few days as the HCG levels starts to fall. As your numbers aren't that high it may just be like a heavier period.

Sorry forgot to add waiting a week is no good - was it a large hospital you went to with an EPU? If not I would go straight to one of those? Many hospitals don't know how to treat ectopics and really you should be given treatment in the next 48 hours

My daughter got told at 5 weeks that she was having PUL, we went every 48 hours for blood tests, her hcg was dropping each time. She miscarried at 8 weeks, on the day she was booked in to have the injection for a possible ectopic.
