Cost of ivf through the nhs?

Does anybody have a clue what sort of cost is to have ivf through the nhs? We’ve just been put on Clomid for 4 months but I’m just thinking further ahead just in case that doesn’t work, we can’t have it on the nhs because my partner has a child but we can pay for it through them....

I didn't pay. But I would budget 5-7 grand (I had budgeted for this because I was not expecting first cycle to work at all). Some of the cost will depend on the amount of medication you need to buy. And then there are always the optional extras...

Costs really vary depending on how many rounds IVF you have, whether every round requires egg collection (ie whether you have any frozen embryos from previous rounds you can use) and what medication you need. Plus there are other investigations or procedures potentially that people have as part of the IVF process. And different clinics charge different amounts. I'd contact the clinic you'd be going through and ask the range for what a round can cost and you can roughly budget from there. Good luck!

Abroad is a lot cheaper then UK and with contacting abroad clinics if you have to go ivf route

Ball park UK £6/8k for icsi. And worth doing that imo as UK clinic didn’t first rounds that we paid for and not so many fertilised

A fet £1.5k roughly

As below it depends on what medication you need and want to say mine was about £150 a day and needed 12 days

At an NHS hospital in Manchester paying privately you are looking at around £3,000 for IVF and £350 for freezing of surplus embryos plus consultation and medication costs (and ICSI if needed)

It can be so expensive I know! I did UK NHS, UK private then went abroad, not a lot of NHS clinics offer private services but look at the costs on the below page for an example (sorry can't link) its St Marys NHS private services, its usually cheaper than a private clinic
