Clomid help ☹️

Hi everyone this may seem like a silly question but..... I’ve had my 2nd appointment with the dr about us not been able to get pregnant, they are starting me on Clomid, he told me not to start it this month as I’ve not been taking folic acid, but my next period isn’t due to start for 3 weeks anyway? Should I start it then? ( he never asked when my next period was) help......

Start it in 3 weeks time when your period is next due. What days have you been advised to take it? Days 2-6? Have you got to book a follicle tracking scan once you've started it?

Start at your next period, make sure you’re taking your folic acid daily too. Good luck!

Thanoyou ladies. Yeah I start day 2 -6, he hasn’t said anything about a scan 😲 he said we are what’s classed as “ unexplained infertility 🙈 because all my tests have come back fine, scan and hsg fine, so he said try this before we have to go ivf ☹️ Xx

I don't get how some fertility clinics will offer if and others won't, it makes no sense! I had a scan every time I had a cycle of clomid to have a look at what my ovaries were doing. I guess if you've not been offered a scan, you're best of DTD every other day from cycle day 10-20 just to make sure you catch the egg if you do ovulate. What about a progesterone blood test at your "cycle day 21"? So a week after you've ovulated. That will confirm if you did ovulate or not.

Iknow I don’t understand it either 🙉 did you have any luck when you was on it? All he said to me was we will try it for 4 months, I will see you back after 4 months if you haven’t fallen pregnant... but if you do fall pregnant to then ring him straight away 🤨 xx

I didn't respond to it to start with and had to take metformin along side it. I feel pregnant 6th go but miscarried early and it was our 10th go that worked. My DS is 13m. This was 10 rounds over 18 months.

I had to go for day 21 bloods in the first cycle, and my doctor said the same OP - he made me a follow up appointment four months later and told me to cancel it if I was pregnant.
I’m now ten weeks with my clomid baby, and we got pregnant on our second cycle!

Thanks everyone, I’m hoping it works for me too, but I’ve been trying to get pregnant for that long I keep thinking it will never happen ☹️ I hope I’m wrong. Xx

We had been trying for a long time, the dr put us on clomid at the same time as the IVF waiting list. To ‘try something while we wait’... it worked.

Hey, just wanted to share a little more hope for you. I conceived on my second round of clomid and currently 7 weeks pregnant! I was on 25mg. Wish you all the luck 🤞🏼
