I have our gyn/infertility appointment next week at the hospital (referred from gp after sa results were bad and my tests were fine)
What to expect? We are seeing a gynaecologist/infertility specialist together as a couple.
What questions can I ask? ( we likely will need ivf/icsi)
Are they the appropriate person to ask about ivf? Time scale and waiting lists? What tests we will now need? We have had blood tests sperm tests I’ve had internal and abdominal hormone tests all done at the gp.

We went to the appointment at the hospital expecting a sort of "one stop shop" only to find that the doctor didnt have much to say when she realised my results were borderline but the main issue is my husband's lack of sperm.

We had to go back to the gp for a urology appointment, which isn't until March. She's ordered another SA for my husband and told him to take condensyl in the meantime.

I was a bit frustrated that the gp didn't refer us directly to urology rather than the gyn side of things.

We were in exact same situation in terms of having done all my tests and one SA already.

Oh no sorry to hear that! And Thankyou for replying
I was worried they had referred us to the wrong department but I have phoned and asked the gyn/infertility department at the hospital and they have reassured me it is the right referal
As they deal with male infertiliry there also. I will be fuming if we get referred back
To the gp

That's great that they do both there! I'm now trying to get my husband to ask the GP to refer him for the male blood test side of things in the naive hope that maybe it will speed things up a little, but I have a feel this is going to take a long long time :/ Ha, I'm dealing with it by booking too many holidays this year.

I hope your appointment is useful!
