Clomid and new job

Three years ago after no success ttc I had a HSG. After the procedure I bled very heavily, like haemorrhaging. I ended up in hospital on numerous antibiotics as well as tranexamic acid. My gyn said it was likely infection, though the bleeding didn't respond to antibiotics, I had no fever and infection markers were low. Another doctor said perforation. MRI's and scans all showed everything looked ok.

Now I am back for fertility treatment again (^really put me off!) and have been prescribed clomid. I'm supposed to take it day 5-10, 50mg.

The doctor said it was a very safe drug and I should have no issues. Having had that previous bleeding though with no confirmed cause, I am nervous.

I am also starting a new job Wednesday and have heard that clomid can make you emotional. Does it sound like a bad idea to start clomid at the same time?! I don't want to be a mess.

I'm not sure what I'm asking really If anyone could tell me their experiences of it that would be great!

Hi @smallwoofer - I didn't have much by way of side effects with Clomid; I was a bit bloated and more irritable but nothing that wasn't manageable. I think you'll be fine. Good luck!

Do you happen to know, do you need to be on clomid to trigger? If I was producing follicles could I just trigger without taking the clomid?

Clomid is often used on its own before starting the IVF process as a means of boosting ovulation, so I would say yes (if you mean "trigger" in the context of releasing eggs). The effect of taking Clomid is usually that you produce more eggs in that cycle than you would without the medication, which increases your chances of getting pregnant.

Sorry - to be clear, Clomid isn't the trigger, if that makes sense! A hcg injection is often used during IVF to trigger the release of mature eggs, and in a normal unmedicated monthly cycle, the body manages to release one or two eggs all on its own . . . although not my body, sadly :-D

@RedPandaFluff yes I'm meaning the hcg injection sorry. If I produce my eggs on my own can I still get the injection, because I always have. I'm confused why she gave me clomid,
