January implications appointment

We have ours towards the end of the month, and hopefully starting our first cycle of IVF with ICSI in February. (We're unexplained, with worsening motility samples and low ovarian reserve. 3.5 years of trying without so much as a sniff of a positive test).

I wondered if anyone else was at a similar stage to me?

Hi! We've got our appointment on Tuesday, I'm not actually 100% sure but I think it's to sign the paperwork and hopefully I'll be starting ICSI in February too!
How're you feeling about it all?

I'm feeling ok, I think. Positive as we're taking some action but also pragmatic, the stats are against us.

Hi @WhatWouldPennyDo we’ve got our consent signing form next Tuesday to hopefully start first cycle in Feb. Also 3.5 years without even a sniff of a positive test or hint of late period. I’m currently waiting (a bit nervously) for the result of my amh test which I had done before Christmas.

Yup exactly the same boat. But just waiting for funding which should come through any day now.

@WhatWouldPennyDo the appointment turned out to be just to say we want to take that route, paperwork appointment has been arranged for 14th February. How you getting on?

@AliceAbsolum I don't know about this funding thing, so I have paperwork to fill out? I'm terribly new at this!

@DaisyMay25 - makes sense. I wondered if it might be useful to you if I shared our experience so far?

We had an appointment in September when they confirmed we would need IVF and having reviewed our many test results that the Consultant was supportive of that course of action (we'dnonly seen the nurse and his registrar at this point!).this sounds a bit like your recent appointment.

In October we saw the nurse to complete paperwork for funding from the CCG. Appointment took c45 mins. We also did our HIV/Hep blood tests as they need to be clear for funding to be granted.

In November we got a letter through from the clinic confirming our funding arrangements and inviting us to an appointment in December to discuss next steps. Husband was booked in for a further sample as the clinic want to do their own analysis.

December appointment was with our Consultant for the first time who talked us through our results including sperm analysis, AMH, HSG etc. Confirmed the type of treatment needed and anticipated dosages. Consent forms signed with nurse.

In January we have our implications appointment plus repeat HIV/Hep tests as you need a clear result valid within 3 months of egg collection. It's a 2.5/3hr appointment during which you have more forms, your specific protocol discussed plus they teach you to inject. My approximate dates will be planned out too.

Hi @WhatWouldPennyDo. Thanks for asking! Ours will be consent signing appointment, it’s actually this coming Tuesday and we will also find it results of amh so am a wee bit nervous! I think we have HIV/hep blood tests too.
