Next week I will be booking a doctors appointment as it has been a year TTC with no success. Can any of you ladies tell me what to expect to help prepare me as I am feeling super anxious ATM.

Thanks
Vick

Hi @TTCVickster sorry to hear you're in a similar situation to me. I saw the GP at the end of November (booked a double appt for me and dh). Booked cd1-5 and cd21 blood tests (this one needs to be done 7 days before af is due so if you have shorter / longer cycles it will be earlier or later) - my GP gave me the forms and I just went to the drop in at a local hospital on the right day.

GP also referred me for an ultrasound and had triple swabs. Dh has been referred for a semen analysis but we've got a long wait for that (was January but now March) . My GP won't refer until he has the results but my scan showed potential blocked tubes so going to push for a referral on that basis given that I'm 35 and we're already a year down.

Good luck 🍀 this is the worst thing I've been through x

Ps I expected to cry but it was quite clinical so surprisingly I didn't and I was very anxious.

I think it depends on where you live. Before my gp would send off my sub fertility referral I needed: blood tests (rubella immunity, hormones etc), swabs (chlamydia check), dh semen analysis (took a while for appt then a few weeks for results) but I haven't had any scans like the previous poster.

I started the process at the end of August and the referral only recently got sent off! That's more to do with my gp practice being majorly understaffed and mucking things up!

It might be worth saying you have been ttc for two years not one-as some areas wait for that. Good luck.
