Laparoscopy

Not sure where to post this!..
I've been given my date for my laparoscopy, 26th of this month.
What prep did you do before the lap? Anything to take to the hospital or to have prepared for when you get home?

Hi there, I had my Lap last week. I was out the same day but took my kindle to entertain me while I waited to go down for the procedure. I would strongly recommend charcoal tablets to help with the gas afterwards which, for me, has been the most painful part of the recovery process. I also found peppermint tea and love hearts sweets shifted it a bit too. Otherwise, have some codeine and paracetamol in, I didn't need the codeine more than a couple of days but the paracetamol I still need from time to time. Hope this helps and good luck x

It didn’t say anywhere in my paperwork to take slippers and a dressing gown but I was asked if I had them... also if you are having a hysteroscopy at the same time, take a sanitary towel as the hospital ones are not great! X

Take loose clothing to wear as your tummy will be really bloated afterwards. I also took peppermint tablets to help with the bloating when I got home. The hospital provided me with painkillers.
Have you booked time off work? I needed a week off after but I think it varies for some people. Hope all goes well for you.
