Hi everyone, I'm new to Mumsnet, I'm 32 next year and single. I recently made the decision to try for a child by myself and made the appointment. My amh levels are low at 2.8 and the consultant feels that ivf wouldn't be suitable leaving me with the option of iui. Has anyone had any success or advice?

Hi Danni02. I’m currently in the two week wait after my first IUI. It’s a fairly simple procedure, not too much pain but you do feel it. Can’t tell you much about the success yet-but I do have endometriosis and PCO so my success rate won’t be as high as some. The clinic says it’s 10-15%. My husband has good sperm but if you are using donor sperm I imagine that would be very good so increase your chances further. Although I think it pays to be realistic -it is likely to take a fair few IUIs as it’s similar to a natural cycle conception rate I think. Good luck!

Your level is inbetween 1-4, so is a little above average. If you were less than 1 you would be low. Good luck.

Thanks guys, it was my consultant who said my amh was low for my age but when he did internal scan he couldn't see my ovaries, I'm researching a HSG test now as he would like that checked by the time I see him next....yes the consultant said my chances were 10% and recommended 4cycles so that sounds about right too good luck to you too

@Jupiter13 you’re referring to the US units for AMH. As OP has been told by her specialist that her levels are low, she’s clearly referring to the uk measurements in which 2.8 is low unfortunately.

Just found out my results on Friday past, trying not to be too despondent @mouse1234567 are you far into your 2 week wait? Good luck
