I was diagnosed with PCOS and endometriosis was also found during this surgery ( I had experienced painful, irregular and heavy periods for years).

I had this type of surgery (its proper name is laparoscopic ovarian diathermy) and became pregnant as a direct result of it. The extensive endo that was found was lasered out along with the many cystic follicles on both ovaries.I have also heard of others who have had this and have not become pregnant.

It took me around 2-3 days to fully recover from the surgery; the pain in the shoulders (the CO2 gas used during the op has to go somewhere) a day or so post op was painful. However, painkillers took the edge off it. I was also advised at the time to take two days off work.
