Fertility blood tests - help! Do I count spotting as CD1?

I wondered if any of you who have had fertility blood tests can help me?

I'm TTC and have been sent for day 1(to 3) and day 21 blood tests for FSH, progesterone levels etc.

I spot for 2-3 days before my full period starts, and I usually count the full flow as day 1, and have read the same online, however when I asked my GP to clarify she wasn't sure, and just suggested I go on day 3 of spotting...

So my question is, should I count the first day of spotting as day 1, or the first day of full flow as day 1?

I do temp, and I'm currently on day 2 of spotting and my temp hasn't dropped yet. Its either go tomorrow and hope full flow starts, or go Monday!

I think it’s the first red bleed but I could be wrong!

@ohluckyme thank you. I have read that is the case, but just wanted to see if anyone who's had them has been told any different.

I have a feeling that full red AF will come at some point tomorrow, but if it's too late in the day to arrange the blood test I'll have to go on Monday which would then be day 4!

But if I go tomorrow and I'm still just spotting, I don't think it'll count as day 1.

Hi Crossfit I've been told (by 2 fertility clinics) to count first day of actual flow as day 1. I get spotting for several days before day 1. Hope you can get your tests done when you need to.

I think it's first day of proper bleeding. That's what I went with for my tests x
