Ivf in India

Hi all! Ive had a failed icsi cycle in August and am now looking at going to India for my next cycle. Has any one had any experience good or bad in India? Please give names of doctors/clincs you have used. Thanks!! Xx

Hi A280 we researched Bloom Fertility and Virk fertility, there was one other but can't remember the name now, both had excellent response times and initial consultations via email. They weren't very forthcoming with protocol but I understand that they wanted us out there for tests etc before deciding.

We didnt go with either as we found European clinics to be cheaper with better success rates.

Hi there are many clinics offering IVF, the amount of adverts in local/national papers to me is staggering.

Now I have not used IVF myself, but I do live in India and know local couples who have had mixed success. Many have said if they could they would of tried another county as the standards have gone down over the years.

However, I do not like in most hospitals (and include dentists) and various medical services, hygiene and the standard of medical care.

Also think about communication, what may be a yes is often a no, and the need to please and tell you what you would like to hear.

Also places can be advertised as a hospital/clinic, but when you see them they are no more than 2 rooms on the top of a shop.

Sorry cannot help further but just what I have seen.

DH uncle is a highly decorated surgeon in India, he recommended Virk Fertility.
We opted for Newlife after researching countless clinics across Europe, India, the US and Australia

@AniSl how was your experience with newlife? Where in the process are you currently?

Its such a challenging decision deciding on a clinic which you feel happy with!

A280 we have finished the first part of our cycle, we got 19 eggs, 16 mature and 10 fertilized, we have 4 grade 4AA blasts in the freezer ready and waiting for when we return for FET. So happy to be this far as we were told in the UK we could not have a biological child

@anisl wow thats amazing!! Wish you all the best with the FET!! Did you have the long or short protocol? If you dont mindcan i ask why the UK had said no chance of biological child? Did you have a fresh transfer or straight for frozen?

A280 thanks, no we went straight to FET, we spoke and decided against fresh as we didnt want to risk implantation failure, I was on short protocol but Newlife, their approach was a mild, slightly longer, protocol to get as many mature eggs as possible. They have been amazing.
NHS advised no chance of a biological child because DH is completely azoospermic, no sperm in any sample and tests and US testes found nothing physiologically wrong, I was advised by 3 separate clinics to choose donor, Newlife did TESE and found plenty of good viable swimmers, we had a good fertilisation rate amd also have one vial of sperm in the freezer

Protocols in India are designed for Indian women, where pcos and endo is more common. But we tend to get, overall, milder endo and the type of pcos that requires more drugs. So cycles can be strong. They are also very strict about viral illnesses there and you are very likely to have a cycle cancelled for a reason that might not warrant one in the UK. If you aren’t Indian or don’t have close friends / family in India able to advocate for you then I strongly recommend considering Cyprus instead. The price difference isn’t that huge when you take into account flights / accomodation and all of the add-on costs in Indian cycles.

@AniSL I’m sorry but Clinics in the UK treat azoospermia routinely with TESE and micro TESE (my cousin has it and was treated very well here recently). You might have gone for India because your uncle is a surgeon not because the UK treatment doesn’t offer TESE!

Cherries101 we didnt decide India because our local clinics didn't offer TESE, of course UK clinics offer it. We looked around at clinics overseas because of the excruciating cost of IVF in the UK and ageing technology. Our uncle was only consulated after we decided to give up on UK clinics and he was able to recommend one.
Our local NHS fertility clinic told us given the test results, DH could not father a biological child, we went to 4 other UK clinics and they all said the same and advised us to seriously consider donor sperm as TESE would be unlikely to find any decent sperm. As my previous post states, all test results found nothing wrong other than DH was not producing sperm. Newlife advised a back up sperm donor but were confident they would find good sperm and they did. With TESE costing far less in Europe, it was our best option

Hi OP, just wanted to give another thumbs up for New Life. I got pregnant on my first round of DE ivf with them and now have nine week old twins. They are absolutely brilliant and I can’t recommend them highly enough.
