Lining too thin

Hi

My wife and I are undergoing ivf, due to age (40+) and a few miscarriages - 3 pregnancies, missed miscarriage, chemical and ectopic.

An ongoing worry has been her lining, it has never gone beyond 5.8mm. We are currently waiting to see if our first cycle is successful, but realistically we are looking for next steps.

While we've had a good experience with the clinic we don't think there is anything else they can do to help with lining - has anyone any experience with thin linings and anywhere else we can contact?

Hi there. I'm sorry for your losses. I did not have as much bad luck as you and your DW, but after a cycle which was cancelled for thin lining I tried acupuncture and a lot of supplements. I did the acupuncture twice a week for 2 months before and during treatment and once a week thereafter.

There are lots of vitamins you can take but I think the most important is D. Also L-Arginine is good for thickening lining. And Brazil nuts and pomegranate juice in diet.

I don't know whether it was these things that worked but my lining got to 8mm and I am now 21 weeks pregnant. I hope you have success too.

There’s lots of things you can do to thicken the lining:
Drinking Pom juice (pomegranate)
Baby aspirin
Acupuncture
Also maybe try ttc supplements.

I don’t think you’ll need to change your clinic for this issue

One of the best things you can do is up water intake, in my first cycle I was drinking 2-3 litres a day as the clinic recommended, my lining got to 10.8mm with only ubiquinol as my supplement, this cycle I have not been drinking as much, 1-1 and a half at best with L-Arginine added to my list of supplements, I am stuck on 5.8mm.

I had thin lining
I found I did better on a FET as could give me loads and loads of oestrogen to thicken lining and transfer when it was right. I often only got to 6mm otherwise (but did have 2 pregnancies on this lining to add but I did miscarry but due to other reasons)

I took very high dose vitamin e until transfer

And also saw mr gorgy who gave me a gcsf wash - controversial and new and expensive. He’s based in London.

Some people find endo scratch can help too

Thanks for the replies. We weren't successful this month, and aren't really keen to just do the exact same thing again. I suppose with previous conceptions having happened lining probably wasn't the reason. 🤷

Hi there. I had thin lining, with all the oestrogen in the world it never got past 5.9 or something. I also had fluid in there which meant I couldn't even get to transfer. In the end a lovely lady on here told me about something called a Neupogen wash which I mentioned to my clinic and they said they could do it but it's not something they have advertised as such as it's kind of an experiment and an off label use of the drug. I had the fluid drained and 2x washes where my lining got to 7mm. Not ideal but it was the best it's been and it looked healthy too. I then transferred two day 5 blasts and they are both playing downstairs as I type.

Two uk ones were .7. Makes me wonder if why failed

Once at the right thickness then can be kept steady

There have been some trials using Viagra for thin linings, as well as the more traditional oestrogen supplements

I don't know what the outcomes of the trials are but it's probably worth discussing with the clinic to get their thoughts
