Is AMH blood test done on nhs?
Pumpkin18 · 25/08/2018 08:11
Doctor hasn't suggested it and haven't been asked to have it by clinic before initial referral appointment but Czech clinic ask for the results before consultation. I saw someone said you can't have it on nhs but just wondering if that's right?

Yes. You have to pay for it. It’s not part of normal nhs tests.

I had it on the NHS earlier this year. My GP ticked the box on the blood test form, but said she wasn't sure if the lab would do it, however they did. I'd never heard of the test before she suggested it. But when I've posted about this before, other posters have said that this is unusual. So no harm in asking, but be prepared to have to have it done privately.

I had mine on the NHS, I had to have a done prior to my first fertility clinic appointment so it was there ready to discuss. I had a list of tests to complete before the appointment.

It's not on the list of tests that I need for initial appointment at hospital so I guess they don't need it every time

I had it done privately then the Nhs re tested me and the amh was confirmed to be low so they will do it on Nhs, think they may have to have reason to test it first

I’ve had mine done on the NHS in last two months, we wasn’t charged

Mine was done on the NHS but in our area couldn’t be requested by the GP, had to be Gynae or fertility clinic. I was going to have it privately and would have been £80 locally but then my NHS appointment came through quicker than expected.

Thanks guys. Maybe clinic will request it for me, or I will have it done in Czech when we go for consultation as its only €25 there

Can't be requested by the gp but an nhs fertility clinic will order it. Or you can pay privately for it - my clinic charges £100
