New on here, had a miscarriage two years ago after years of unprotected sex and not had any luck since. I've had swabs and bloods and waiting on a scan appointment, DH has his appointment on Friday to give his bloods and sample!

I'm just so worried, I'm 31 with pcos, never had regular periods, on average 2 per year and just feel like it is never going to happen for me. I feel like I'm ticking on in age. The process seems to taking a long time. If we do need IVF how long will all that take...

At what point do we admit defeat and look at other options? Surely the older I am the more at risk a baby will be.... able

We went in for our paperwork appointment and started 10 days later. Mind, that was after a year of tests...

Sounds like the problem is that you hardly ovulate. This is pretty easily remedied with medication.

Pursue this - you're a good candidate for treatment.

You mentioned pcos? Make sure your bmi is below 30, but better for it to be under 25.

Hi,

It is just over a year since our first app at the clinic and i am currently halfway through my first ivf cycle!

It is an emotional rollercoaster and we've had a couple of setbacks but try to keep positive although I know it is very difficult.

Good luck!

We went to the GP in January, had tests (my partner had tests two years prior before we got together and knew it was male factor infertility - no idea if that effected the timeline)

Referred and accepted for ivf in March, started in May. Process has been long, I'm still waiting for the frozen transfer of one of our embryos.

All based on my cycle ya see! Even though I'm regular it has taken a while.

So basically started the process of discussing our fertility issues in January so from then to now almost 9 months.

Shorter time than I thought
