Brief history: TTC for 27 months. I have a child from a previous relationship so we are self funding. Diagnosed with male factor infertility in March ( confirmed by two other SA). Told ICSI is the best route to take and after much waiting for our initial appointment at the clinic, we were seen yesterday and I’ve decided to go down the egg sharing route, partly for financial reasons but mainly because this journey has made me realise that I wouldn’t wish infertility on my worse enemy and that if I can help a couple in need, then I’m sure as hell going to do it.

The consultant was thrilled. She said not many people consider egg sharing and that I’m the ideal candidate which was nice to hear. She passed my details onto the donor coordinator who called this morning and is keen to get a move on with the relevant tests (AMH and internal scan) to confirm I’m able to egg share.

Going from months of nothing to an appointment yesterday and now an appointment scheduled in a few weeks with her, it’s turned up a few gears very fast and I’m feeling slightly overwhelmed but ultimately excited!

So exciting! Does it reduce the costs for you? Its such a kind thing for you to do. I'm wondering if I'll ask my clinic if they offer it as infertility is obviously the effing worst.

Keep updating, im really interested to see how you get on!
