Blocked tube/IVF

Hi I was just wondering if someone could please give me some advice as I’m driving myself crazy. I have had a HSG test which showed left tube is blocked. The fertility consultant has put me on the IVF waiting list ( should start in a few months) he said that he doesn’t think we should have the tube investigated but I’ve read up so much online and I really think I should have a lap test done to see if there is any fluid stuck in there etc? That fluid can be harmful from what I’ve read and I don’t understand why they wouldn’t want to check for that first before starting IVF. I really want the best chances with IVF but I feel like I won’t be going into it 100% positive knowing that things could be looked at?

@BeaCat hi. Aw that's so frustrating for you. Well I went to see my private consultant and he said that we can go straight for IVF but it's the cyst that he wants to make sure isn't growing so have a scan in 6 weeks. I hope it doesn't go bigger as I've read people having laps done to get rid of cysts then they just grow back.

Fingers crossed for you @November1500, the lap really does take it out of you for a couple of weeks so hopefully you won't have to go through it. Good luck with it all 😊
