Ivf route, should I go with nhs self fund or private-how to decide? Help

Having been referred to nhs fertility unit the consultant mentioned ivf given I’m 40.p, we’ve been trying 11mths. If I self fund with nhs then it’ll cost 5000 overall but so far I have found communication not the best and the hours are 8.30-4 mon-fri. I’m not working at mo but interviewing for jobs which are in central London. My hospital is in Surrey.
A part of me is thinking going with private clinic and thinking of using CARE London but need to go in for consultation which lo cost £200 and doesn’t include scan. On plus side reputable and open 8.30-6 plus open weekends too. More expertise but I do worry about it costing an extra 1k. I just don’t know what to do.
Hubby says if we go to care consult then we should stick with them. And as for my local nhs self fund ivf whilst their consultant is from Harley street I’m worried not as great an outcome and scared on what decision to make.
If anyone could help me decide plus if you have experience of using care London I’d love to hear. Thanks

Hello, what does self funded with the NHS mean?I have been referred for IVF and I am waiting for the approval but I won't have to pay.

Check your ccg guidelines on fertility fairness @Kitkat369. Many have the requirement of ttc for two years and age limits. They might just string you along until you are too old... I've seen that happen from others on this site.

I had nhs funded ivf and then stayed with the clinic for a private round. I honestly cannot fault them they were phenomenal - my views probably helped by the fact that I'm 13/40 currently from cycle 2.
Personally I would rather go with a clinic who does nhs work as I think they are more trustworthy and less money grabbing.
