MRI scan PCOS

I was diagnosed with PCOS at 21 and put on the pill. I came off the pill last year in order to ttc and my periods never reappeared (unsurprisingly as i often went a year without before)! GP has done scans and referred me to the hospital. I’ve had my day 3 and day 21 tests. My BMI is 27, so I’m trying to lose a little bit of weight.

Doctor now has referred me for an MRI of my brain. He said my results are low and my brain isn’t sending signals to my ovaries to make oestrogen and he wants to find out why.

I’ve never seen this as a stage in infertility diagnostic. Has anyone else had this?

My friend had a raised prolactin and therefore an MRI of her brain which showed a small (being) tumour on her pituitary gland. She was given meds and then allowed to crack on with ivf once hormones were at a better level.
