Long cycles..

I have very messed up cycles ever since a brain operation 2 years ago. Currently on day 82. I'm currently under a consultant at our local hospital as my cycles are all over the place. I had an internal scan on Monday 16th july to see if my womb lining had got thicker as the last time I had an internal scan (end of june) it was still thin. On my internal scan it showed that my womb lining was thick and that my body had intact ovulated itself. The lady who did the internal scan stated that it was quite possible I ovulated that weekend or on that day but couldn't be sure. She told me to wait 2 weeks and do a test to see if I had caught..I did one this morning (early I know and it stated negative) do you think that was possibly too early or do you think I've got no chance of being pregnant? We're so desperate to conceive.

Thanks in advance.

My last period was 26th May, I just started it today. Got results back from my doc who said my bloods were completely fine, I ovulated etc but because my cycle was around 60-70 days, I have no idea when I ovulated and got EWCM twice. I think the second time I definitely ovulated but OH was away visiting family and we missed the chance.

I've had irregular cycles my whole life and still nothing is being done about it, but currently being referred which may take a year.

Not everyone is the same when it comes to testing, as long as you DTD around the time she thinks you ovulated there could be a chance. Just wait another week and do a test.

I've read online that tracking discharge is the best sign (EWCM)
TMI - But I've gotten a bath a few times and kinda 'pushed' and a lot of EWCM came out and had an idea of that was when I OV'd. But either OH was in work, visiting family or we had a long day. I hope that could be a tip for you.

I hope you get your BFP, keep me posted.

I did a test on Monday just gone and it was negative. They gave me northistertone to basically start my period off so I'm currently taking them for 5 days so hopefully after I've finished the 5 days (friday) I should have a bleed a couple of days later and then I can start the clomid they gave me to take on day 2 of my cycle. I'm currently on cycle day 88 so it's been never ending I've never gone this long unless I've been pregnant I have a LG from a previous relationship and I've had miscarriages in the past.

Fingers crossed we both get our BFP soon xx

Well hopefully it turns into a BFP soon misses.
I don't want to sound mean, but I do think the longer the cycle the less likely it is to get BFP - but again it does depend on when you've ovulated and DTD. And everyone's different. I can have 1-2 periods a year then after I get one there's a chance I could have a 28-32 day cycle which is the only time I've been regular - but again don't know when I could ovulate.

I think I know how you feel about the long cycles - as I just went around 65+ days without one in hope of a BFP.

TTC is so stressful.

Can I ask about how you've been with the irregular cycles? This is my first time trying and I'd really love some insight.

Ah likewise to you hun. Fingers crossed for us both.

I totally agree with you..long cycles are a nightmare because like u say u don't know when your coming on so therefore u don't know when your ovulating which makes it so muxh harder.

Me and my partner have had all the tests done at the centre for reproductive medicine and we are both fine - other than my irregular cycles.

My cycles have never been strict 28 days ever since I started back when I was 12 (now 29) however it got worse after I had a craniotomy 2 years ago. Our consultant did say that because of the op it could mean that my brain isn't sending the signals to my ovaries to release an egg or to ovulate. My cycles were always around 46 days give or take a few days until the last period I had which was 37 days so I thought my cycles were getting back to normal however were now on cycle day 88 and still nothing. I'm hoping this northistertone will induce a bleed and then I can start clomid. I don't know what u know about clomid but basically it's a drug that forces your body to ovulate and release an egg. I've read u p about it and alot of ppl have had success on it so I'm hopefully. If your under a consultant I would push for it because it sounds fantastic. I had to push for it or else my consultant was going to wait until our next app which was booked for October.

Xx
