AF after failed cycle

I have been reading that AF can get messed up after artificial (IVF) cycles. My clinic have advised that we can only start looking at my next IVF cycle after a natural AF cycle. I had a failed cycle in May (no blasts made it to day 5), AF arrived very quickly due to the artificial cycle. My natural cycle has not yet started, I am now on day 57, my usual cycles are 32 days, so I am 25 days overdue. What are your experiences?

Mine was only 3 days late but I've certainly heard of people being very late. Sorry it must be so frustrating x

hoping2018 u r lucky, this is driving me mad as I cant book anything in terms of leave until it decides to show up. Everyday I see hope in DH eyes that being this late must mean I am pregnant even though we have 4 negative tests. I wish I was but tests say otherwise.

One of my best friends was super late after her first failed cycle. The worst part of ivf is definitely all the waiting - far too much time to think and so much better when you can just get on with things.

I hope it's here soon - maybe give your clinic a call and see if they have a cut off when they'd medically induce if?!? (I have no idea if they'd do that but as they regulate your cycle anyway I imagine they might some times)

Good luck

I spoke to my clinic, they said that IVF pumps enough hormones into our body that they want it to recover naturally. I can understand that as I have always been very regular so they think it should start naturally soon

After my failed IVF cycle last year my next period took around 47 days to arrive. Clinic said similar to yours in that it takes X amount of time for all of the drugs to leave your body. Esp Progesterone etc

@AniSL I have felt your pain! It’s awful but quite common. I endured almost 60 days before I had af after initial treatment. It should come soon for you. My mum commented with the timing that I must have skipped a cycle completely?! All the best x

How frustrating Ani.
My cycles are usually between 29-32 days.

I had a failed IVF cycle in January, cancelled before egg collection, cycle was 54 days.
I had another failed cycle in April, bled 2 days before test date. Since then I've had 2 29 day cycles and AF came today making this a 24 day cycle.

I do think your clinic are right to wait but I totally get the frustration. Hope it comes soon.
