When to test - ivf?

We had an egg transfer on monday this week.

Fresh cycle, five day transfer, blastocyst was hatching just as they were implanting it.

I’ve been advised by our nurse to test before the blood tests (next weekend) but am unsure just how early I can test.

Advise me oh wise vipers

Many will say wait till at least 12dp5dt as you'll definitely get an accurate result then but if you test earlier, it could be wrong and you will worry either way and have to wait anyway.

On a previous cycle I tested at 6dp5dt, got a v faint positive. The next day it got a bit stronger. On 8dp5dt it started to fade and by 12dp5dt it was a BFN. So chemical pregnancy. I wished I'd never seen the BFP at all.

On this cycle I tested at 5dp5dt and got a faint BFP, which got darker each day after that. I'm 9 weeks now. Others have got clear BFNs that early but BFP later.

I would say that as 9dp5dt is equivalent to what would be the first day of your period in a natural cycle, that's the first day you can test and be reasonably confident in the result, whatever it is.

I was bad and tested at 7dp5dt and got a BFP but it was twins so maybe stronger because of that? The clinic’s OTD was 11dp5dt. I agree that 9dp5dt is the earliest really.. I then beat myself up wondering was it the trigger!

You can test 14 days after egg collection on a fresh cycle (which by my calculation was on the 27 June) or 9 days after a 5 day transfer which is the same day as 14 days after egg collection with a fresh cycle.

I got a bfp at 9dp3dt in the evening and was clear on a FRER. Had two put in but only one in there, certain it would have been positive earlier than that too.

On my first cycle I tested out the trigger and tested everyday which was emotionally hard and I don't recommend!

On second cycle which was positive I knew it had worked as my OHSS was back which is why I tested so early
