Petrified of stopping progesterone & Progynova at 12 weeks

I'm 11+3 weeks pregnant following a successful ivf cycle.

I'm due to stop progesterone & Progynova on Friday and I'm petrified about it.

Can anyone give me any reassurance or advice please?

I was the same although i was on progesterone and clexane.
My clinic told me to stop completely at 12 weeks. I asked my consultant at my 12 week scan if it was safe and he said it was but if it made me feel better, I could wean myself off so between 12 and 15 weeks, I reduced my dose from twice a day to once a day to every second day. My baby is 15 months now and perfect . Good luck!

I stopped at 8 weeks with my ivf pregnancy and it was fine, they told me that once the placenta is established it takes over production of progesterone.

I agree, wean yourself off them if you are scared to go cold turkey, fingers crossed it will be fine.
If you get spotting etc while you are weaning off them ask your clinic for advice

Another one who weaned off slowly. It really helped me mentally although your body doesn't need it by then. Wishing you a healthy pregnancy x

You will be fine, I was on steroids, clexane, progynova and prontogest until 12-14 weeks, i work in an ivf clinic too. Just taper off your last week with what you have left (no need to with the progesterone but it usually makes people feel better)

@Whathappenednext I'm 11+5 and in exactly the same position. I'm so nervous about stopping dead in case it is supporting the baby although everyone says it will be fine. I wanted to wean off but wasn't sure if that could be harmful...listening on here I may do that.

I'm on 3 X 400mg cyclogest and 4 x 2mg pogynova. Are you?

This is my 5th ivf cycle and the only BFP I've had so il super nervous!

I'm on 1200mg progesterone. 20mg steriods, 5 Progynova tablets a day and clexane. The clexane is the only thing I'm carrying on with during pregnancy but everything else ends this Friday (Alton weaning steriods gently)

My little one is 5 months old and he was my 5th cycle too! I stayed on the clexane longer too. I know how anxious you must be, I ended up having about 12 pregnancy scans

It is really scary but reassuring to hear other people saying it's fine.

I'm thinking I'm going to spend 5 days on 800mg then maybe another 5 days on 400mg then stop? Estrogen something similar. But I will ask a Dr first.
