Orgasms after ET

Hi,
I am worried sick. I am 5dpt.My clinic told me not to have sex after my ET and I assumed it was due to the infection / multiple pregnancy risk, but I have been masturbating & have had 3 orgasms since the transfer

I have since been told that part of the reason they ban sex is to prevent uterine contractions during the ‘critical’ 5 days post transfer.

I have scuppered my chances haven’t I?

I wouldn’t worry too much, there isn’t enough evidence for most of the recommendations given after ET - it’s just precautionary. Of all the things that could affect implantation, I don’t think this would be high up on the list. However, I do know how stressful this time is and can understand why you would be concerned. Have a word with the clinic for clarity. Wish you all the best xx

Bizarrely IVF caused sleep orgasms for me! Never had before (though continued into pregnancy). Totally freaked out and googled lots - quite a lot of people have had these symptoms and conceived. Don't beat yourself up.

P.s my clinic say fine to have sex throughout ivf!

My doctors said mild intercourse is fine after ET. Actual research on uterine contraction effect is contractual. I wouldn’t worry.
