Little things to make you feel better

Hello all

Given th universial crappness of infertility I thought I would start a thread about little things I have found to help a bit. Currently in week 2 of 2ww following fet, first fresh blast failed at the start of the year. So in no particular order here goes:

  • reading the Art of Baking Blind, here a character quietly and painfully is trying for a child and suffering multiple miscarriages so might not be for everyone but for me the sensitive and true way it is handled left me feeling compassionate for the character and therefore all of us and not alone, although I haven’t experienced all of the things she does
  • Kalms if I am feeling really bad, I haven’t asked if we are allowed to because don’t want to be told no and it can’t be too bad in the narrow chance am actually preg
  • breathing zone app on phone - flower picture that helps deep breathing, am calmer when doing this
  • other book is Falling for Eli, woman cannot have children and opts for rescue horse instead, have also bought “trying” about trying to have a child but not read it yet
  • getting nails done, am having mind done at 4pm on test day, if it has failed will hopefully have stopped crying by then! Vain but it does cheer me up.
  • trying to be a bit more positive about the awful and undignified and cruel process of ivf, I did chlomid too and was terrible so I was put off before started. It is defensive but lately I have been thinking having such a bad attitude towards it is making it worse
  • getting dvds etc I want to watch in and clearing the decks of commitments/ doing jobs in garden etc so when am trying to take it easy in the 2ww is less frustrating
  • listening to good music about being a bit broken, Lou Reed prefect day and New York conversation etc, try to forget the awful poor ballad version of perfect day when you listen and hear the cracking voice holding on and problems all left alone lyrics. Blue tones also got here at times.

Anyone else? Would love to hear your coping mechanisms, good luck and Flowers to us all xxxx

👋 Listening to a good podcast! I always enjoy Modern Love. Also got hooked on Heavyweight recently. 😊

Having a second project to put my mind off fertility helps. I’m redecorating the house.
