Hi

I had my first cycle in May with a clinic in Greece. All went well, TESE found good sperm for DH which is now frozen, I was on the short protocol and managed 6 eggs, 4 mature, 2 fertilized and were grade A 8/7 cell embryos, sadly didn't make it to day 5.
We will be going for another cycle at the same clinic in September. This means that I will be in my 90 day egg cycle in the next week.
Its going to be a tough 90 days with the diet, exercise and supplements.
Did anyone else do anything different in their 90 day cycle leading up until egg collection?

Ani

I pretty much followed the 'it starts with the egg' plan. Lots and lots of supplements.

It's early days for us yet. Ec was Friday. 19 collected. 18 mature. 13 fertilised. I'm 34 with polycystic ovaries (not pcos) and unexplained infertility.

Protein, protein and more protein. Eat at least 80-100g if you can

Has your clinic spoken to you about any supplements to improve quality? I was put on lots - melatonin, DHEA, coenzyme q10. Husband was also given advice on omega 3, supplements etc.

I would recommend just randomly buying off the internet but I'd check with your doctor.

I think the sperm kicks in from day 3 onwards so if they looked good and were grade a 8 cells (from my experience in a similar situation) it's more of a sperm problem so make sure your DH is doing your lifestyle factors with you x

DH requires no supplements as he has done his bit, we will not traumatise his man bits again as we got some good quality sperm on ice from his TESE.

My clinic on the last round were happy with my 90 day supplements, the only change they made was instructed no multi vit or DHEA.

I am doing the same supplements this time which are Ubiquinol, melatonin, l-arginine and Inositol. I am adding Maca this time round. I am vegetarian so the vege protein recommendation is already covered and I religiously drink 2 litres of water anyway.

With the failure of last cycle, they think it was just bad luck. They cannot find anything wrong with the sperm and were pleased with the egg quality.

I was told by my UK clinic to take a pregnancy or conception support multivitamin, eat as much protein in real food as I could bear (am following a restricted calorie diet as I have pcos), and eat my omega intake via oily fish / chicken /walnuts etc. I also drink a lot of milk but that’s more to help with protein and help boost my liquid intake than anything else.

Hey Ani, I took co q10 before my last cycle and also ate a low carb diet - lots and lots of eggs for breakfast! I had the best results I've ever had - 5 blasts - although none of them stuck around inside me long enoughSad

I'll be doing the same again for our next round.
