FSH Levels

I've been trying to conceive through artificial insemination at home for over 12 cycles with two different donors (not simultaneously). So I'm fairly sure the donor(s) is fine.

I managed to get a referral to the fertility clinic and they did a day 3 blood test of the hormones. My prolactin has been over 500 on two occasions and my FSH this time round was 14... what does this really mean?

They've taken some blood for an AMH test today so will get those results back in 2 weeks.

Raised fsh implies low ovarian reserve- ie egg supply is running out.

However- this doesn’t mean it’s impossible to conceive. It does have implications for ivf though, and theoretically makes natural conception more tricky. However my fsh was 12 and I’ve been pregnant 3 times since.

The amh will give you a better picture.

Thank you for replying. I did the foolish thing of googling and had written myself off as menopausal!
