Dying egg being fertilised?

I've looked around and can't see any answer to my question so thought I'd start a new thread.

When my parents were ttc for me and my sisters my Mum had many miscarriages and found out after tests that when her eggs were being fertilised they were already dying and so caused her miscarriages. She had some kind of injection which meant she could have my sisters and I.

Has anyone ever heard of this and know what it is called or what injection she would've had?

I've been ttc for a year now and had two miscarriages - I am hoping I don't have the same problem as my Mum so if I have another miscarriage and begin tests I'd like to know more about her issue.

I've tried to ask but it upsets her and she can't remember the details.

Thanks for listening. Sorry if this isn't clear or technically correct by the way.

Can’t she get a copy of her medical records? Hopefully the details will be included.

Your mum could request copies of her medical record from the treatment.

I wonder if she feels that she is to “blame” for your issues if she might have passed on a medical condition to you? That might explain her upset.

The only thing I can think of where injections are given is for clotting issues, but depending on how old your mum is, I'm not sure whether that is the right timeframe. I think I remember reading a leaflet about Hughes syndrome saying it was a 70s discovery??

Does Anti C cause miscarriage?
