How long for IVF appointment?

Hi,
I have been referred for IVF and I am just wondering how long it took for you to get an appointment?
It will be an NHS funded cycle and we have had all the pre tests etc so now just waiting for the hospital to get back to us. My DH wants me to call the hospital to chase but I don’t know if we are being unrealistic about time scales. I thought we were told it would take 4-6 weeks and it is now coming up for 2 months.
Thanks

It varies massively between hospitals. I only waited a few weeks but I hear of people waiting months. I'd give them a call - nothing to lose! At least you'll know they've def. got it and you can ask for an idea on timescale

I was told no waiting list but then it took 4 months to get started!
It really depends where you are and the volume of other patients.
There is no harm you or DH ringing to ask for a rough idea of where you are on the list. Good luck.

Hello, I wonder if someone could give me advice.i am going to apply for IVF on the NHS and my Dr said that is pretty quick once the referral is approved.i have been trying for 18 months so I would wait longer if it wasn't for my amh levels.my Dr told me that it has to be over 4.9 pmol and mine is 7 so if I leave it I would have to test again in September as I was tested a year ago which means it could have decreased and no accepted...i am thinking of applying now so I don't have to be tested again.my question is how long do you have to use them after the approval?i want to enjoy my holiday and I wouldn't like to start until the end of the year...

it changes all the time. Ours was a year but we went private and were seen within 5 weeks by the same hospital. At that point we were told the nhs list had jumped to a year and half waiting time.
