Take an ibuprofen half an hour before and then do everything in your power to relax - long exhale works for me!

I was dreading mine having read some horror stories on here and because I've got speculum issues but honestly it was uncomfortable but fine.

Thanks I need new shoes!

So nervous, I had a bad colposcopy (if spelt right?!) experience last year ended up in theatre so now I'm super nervous anything near the area.

If only could have a little glass of wine before to help me relax 😂😂

I had one of these a few months ago. I read loads of horror stories online and so was fully expecting it to be awful.

But actually it was absolutely fine. I can't even really describe it because there was nothing to it.

I had a HSG and it was okay. Had to get into loads of awkward positions as they had issues getting dye into one tube so it took longer than expected, but I went back to work afterwards and was fine, a few cramps but not much.

Everyone is different, do you know why the colposcopy went wrong? Maybe if the team understood that it could make the HSG less uncomfortable for you.

Good luck, hope it goes smoothly. They said in my hospital to bring a sanitary towel as gravity will make the dye come out later.

Thanks for the info girls!!

Think I'm bigging it up in my head to more than it actually is! Luckily it's in the morning on the day so I don't have to think about it all day!

Colposcopy was basically the docs fault, he took a call half way through, left some stuff in me and it got stuck... lovely!!

It seems to be a different department I've booked in with... as I don't want to see him again and am sure he doesn't want to see me!
