Hello ladies,

I'm devastated any need some advice..please!
We have been trying to concive in the last 12 months I thoguth something is not right. After a bood test at cd3 my fsh levels are 34!!!!!!!!
I'm 39 and did not expected this awful result. Do you think it is all over for me? Our only option is natural conception as we have a boy alreqdy who is 8 years old.
I feel cheeted this number is a menapousal number not for somebody who still have period every month without any symptoms..
😓😓

If you're still ovulating there is still a chance - FSH does not indicate ovulation. The cycle day 21 progesterone level does - have you had this done?

BoRoni · 06/05/2018 23:32

I love ur name hoping2018!

On cd 3 it was normal my cd21 blood will commence on the 22nd of May. My cycles become very erratic in the last 5 months and Im pretty sure I did not ovulate last time ... I got my period 6 days after positive opk test.
Im soo worried / sad that I have potentially no eggs left for a baby... I left it too late..

Mine was 26/27 (I'm 30 years old) and I'm now 6 weeks pregnant with no intervention Smile

A day 21 blood test should be 7 days before your period is due (so only day 21 of your cycles are 28 days). If your cycles are erratic it might be hard to work out what day to have it done?

Chattycat78 · 07/05/2018 14:31

Agree with the above. If you’re ovulating it’s possible. Erratic periods do suggest erratic ovulation- but until you’re no longer ovulating, It is possible.

Congratulations fireandrain that is wonderful!

My GP made is soo bleak diminished egg reserve very very poor egg quality meaning I have no good follicles left. ... it did break my heart. Nice to hear one can still fall pregnant naturally!

Im not sure what is going on wth my cycles since we decided to ttc I have cycles ranging from 18-40. I never had very regular perods anyway but this is just not normal anymore..Im tracking my ovulation with clear blue advanced and nearly all months I do get lh surge so that is good right?

Did any of using herbal supplements?

Thank you I was panicking it would never happen but it actually happened quickly, have they tested your FSH at another point in your cycle? My doctors said it's a good sign if it comes back down again after the follicular phase. They also said you have to take into account how your estrogen and progesterone are fluctuating too, they said progesterone of around 30 (tested 7 days before your period is due) will show you're ovulating

BoRoni · 07/05/2018 15:37

Yes they did test it but not sure how mich I can read into it as it was done on cd 21 and fsh level was showing extremely high 64. .. but I know that on that day I had the first positive ovulation test so it was not 7 day before the period but 13 days .As such the progesterone was not high either on that day..

The next cd21 blood will be in two weeks time but I already have flashing smiley opk tests at cd8 so if all goes well I will detect lh surge soon. Ig all goes to plan I will foind out if Im ovulating at all or not. At cd3 all other hormones were in the notmal range apart from fsh (34).

I just want only one happy egg no more....

Fsh has got nothing at all to do with egg quality- there’s no test available for that.

The best test for egg quality is age. And you can help egg quality with supplements etc.

@BoRoni I don't really have anything useful to say, except I feel you. Not quite in the same boat, but I'm 32 and recently had my day 3 which showed FSH of 17.4. I completely freaked out as my doctor has said it is a big concern at my age and is referring me for a scan.
I had my 21 day bloods taken today and will know the results by the end of the week.

Thanks for you as I know how you must be feeling x

BoRoni · 09/05/2018 08:04

Hello Jemmima..im so sorry you have similar issues! Do u also have period every month? I wish I could've strated ttc long before.. it breaks my heart.

I received my referral to the fertility clinic yesterday , it will not happen until mid June. I guess nothing to do until than just try and try. I will keep temping so at least I will know if Im ovulating or not.

Keep me posted about the blood results!

Hedgehog Ill read this book!!!!
Thanks!

@BoRoni Yes I've been having a regular period every 22-23 days. I've only been ttc for about 6 months but went to the doctor as I was concerned about the length of my cycles and also the lightness of my bleeds (only last around 2 days and are extremely light).

I think I am ovulating as my temps have been showing a rise (certainly this month anyway!)

For a long time we said we didn't want children, but then something changed and we changed our minds. I feel like this is the universe's way of punishing me Sad
