IVF at St George's, Tooting

Hello everyone – I've done a search on this, but there doesn't seem to be anything recent.

I am due to start treatment at St George's in July (or at least, that's when our first appointment is! We've been around the houses a bit). Has anyone had any experience of being treated there? My only experience of St George's is a trip to A&E and, erm, being born there which I wasn't really aware of at the time.

Anyway, very keen to get cracking as I've had a load of tests, an op, and general misery about age (35) and unexplained infertility, so I really hope St George's are nice and it all can go as well as possible.

Hey I've been referred to St Georges in Tooting and was wondering what your experience had been like there? :)

I was under the St George's fertility clinic and they were great. The only thing is they are a part-time unit so only open a few days a week and my understanding was that because of this they do not do IVF. They can do all the investigations and non-IVF treatments, but if you qualify for NHS funded IVF I think you would be transferred to the St Helier or Croydon fertility units. We did all our investigations through St George's and had 3 cycles of clomid and 3 cycles of tamoxifen there, then went for self-funded IVF as we don't qualify for NHS funded IVF.

Thank you I’ve actually decided to go with Kings Hospital so hoping there good! May I ask why you didn’t qualify for NHS IVF? I don’t know what the criteria is but really hoping I qualify due to financial reasons x
