Total cost of ICSI IVF

Hi everyone. We have an issue with high sperm DNA fragmentation (31%). We are hoping to reduce the fragmentation but if we can't get it to below 20% will have to self fund ICSI/IMSI.

Does anyone know how much a cycle of this treatment costs? We are in central London and would want the treatment to be in London. I've looked various clinics websites but they seem to break down the costs and not include the cost of drugs etc so I'd rather hear from someone how much it cost them. Thank you.

Hi there. I would budget for about £7.5K for the cycle of IVF plus ICSI. We are just going through IVF with ICSI now and are in London. The price varies a fair bit because they don't know how quickly you'll respond to the drugs, but you'll save yourself a bit of money if you source the drugs yourself and don't go through the clinic.

Hi, our drugs are costing about £1500 per cycle, we are also paying for extras like an endometrial scratch (£150), timelapse monitoring (£700), TESE (which is surgical sperm retrieval - £1850, which is meant to help overcome high DNA fragmentation).

Our clinic charges about £5500 for ICSI. However we have signed up to access fertility which is £12000 for 3 fresh cycles and all FET that you have available. (Drugs, timelapse and TESE are costs on top of this per cycle ) if there's no live baby at the end of all that we get the £12000 back.

A few years ago in uk we did basic ivf at £5.5k. Icsi was another £1.5k so £7k. Drugs vary per person. Think mine was £130 a day and usually 10/12 days worth

Abroad is cheaper - looking at maybe £3/4 for icsi

Ours cost 10k for one cycle bug that included surgical sperm retrieval which was about £1600 so I’d say 8k ish

@hoping2018 that sounds really good can I ask which clinic you are with and what criteria you have to meet to be accepted by Access Fertility?

We had ICSI at an NHS clinic but self funded. All in all the meds, scratch, embryo glue, pessaries and Fragmin injections came to about £5k. Successful cycle (we had one unsuccessful cycle previously on the NHS).

This was in Yorkshire so I daresay London will be more expensive. But going to an NHS clinic as a private patient might be another option for you to consider if you are looking to minimise costs.

We checked IVF with ICSI and TESE in a number of UK clinics. The average was 6k for the IVF with ICSI and then 1.7k for TESE, 1.5K for the drugs and some clinics we had to look at extra for 5 day blastocyst and assisted hatching. Far too much for us so we sourced a clinic overseas that we are getting all the aforementioned plus travel and hotels for 5.8k which means we are also getting a holiday too.

Access Fertility prices can be more expensive. But I do know CARE in London accepts the plan if you want the refund.

Hi @WhiteBobbles it's worth saying if successful first time with access fertility they keep the money and you've effectively paid twice what you needed for the ivf! So it's not for everyone and is effectively like paying insurance in case it takes a few attempts or doesn't happen at all....

I'm not sure on criteria we had to provide access to our notes and then they let us know if successful. They have different packages too x

Yes packages mean if successful first time then yes you’ve overpaid

But if first fails means you aren’t paying double money again for 2/3rs attempts

Have you looked into Access Fertility Blondes? I know you've had your successful outcome by now (congratulations!) but if you have never looked into it they have 50%, 70% and 100% refund packages with different outlay and criteria and the option to pay separately for add ons.
They work it in such a way that they still make money because the people who are fortunate enough to get a baby first cycle are so happy with their outcome. There are different structures depending on age too. I suppose they've calculated the odds, it's all about the numbers. Not all clinics work with them but very many reputable ones do.
It's something we're investigating for next attempt(s).

Hi. Yes finally successful after 5 goes. No as happy with my one miracle tho did have 3 left in the freezer but decided to donate to medical Science

But sounds a fab deal esp if fails. Any money back is a bonus
