Clomid

I'm starting Clomid on my next cycle 100mg,
I've been googling away (as you do) does this significantly increase my chances of twins? Terrified of the thought.
Anybody have any experience of this?

Not hugely.

Good luck.

Clomid hasn't worked for me but did cause me to grow a fibroid that consultant says isn't a problem. I have my doubts because in my first year of ttc I had two chemical pregnancies and none in the last year (6 cycles of clomid).

Ow sorry to hear it hasn't worked for you.
I'm trying to not be too optimistic about it all to avoid disappointment x

Two cycles of Clomid, no pregnancy, one cycle of Femara, now 31 weeks with twins (but u/s scan to see if it was working showed two follicles and could have decided to skip that cycle and avoid the chance of twins if I'd wanted).

My DC1 and DC2 (not twins) are clomid babies, I was told the risk of twins is only slightly increased. Added bonus for me was the clomid kickstarted my natural cycle and DC3 was conceived without any intervention. She was a massive surprise!

If I did conceive twins I'm sure we'd cope and manage. It's just the thought of it's terrifying. I'd be grateful of anything xx

Don’t be surprised if you turn into the devil. Warn your other half!!!

I had success with Clomid after a few cycles and a final dose increase of 150mg.. We are just expecting one, but during each cycle where I used clomid I was also having follicle tracking scans to check follicle growth, and one of the things they were checking for was multiple follicles. We was given instructions not to have unprotected sex on each cycle until they were sure there wasn't an excess of follicles from the scan results..

Not sure re stats, but We we're told to have a discussion and establish whether we'd be ok with twins in case it happened.

Good luck re Clomid. The best advice I read anywhere was to take it just before going to bed. I didn't find the side effects that bad as I slept through 😁
