Hi, I have failed my first cycle of IVF which is so upsetting as not sure what went wrong as had a 5aa blastocyst transferred. Has anyone had the review appointment if so what happens and also gone on to have better luck the second time? X

Flowers it's so tough. Take care of yourself. Even when everything is perfect success is sadly not guaranteed. We failed our first cycle with a textbook highest quality hatching embryo. We had success with a FET two months later. Good luck x

Really feel for you kjackson I was exactly in exactly the same position last year. I had my follow up appt about a month afterwards and if i’m Honest it wasn’t any help at all - they didn’t tell me anything I didn’t know. We are now in the middle of round 2, having changed clinics. So I can’t tell you if the 2nd attempt is successful but hopefully it will be. Look after yourself x

@kjackson02, so sorry you weren't successful this go. My review appointment wasn't very helpful, consultant recommended a hysteroscopy but essentially the first cycle is often considered diagnostic. The Reddit infertility board has some good insights, here is an FAQ for questions to ask about a failed cycle: www.reddit.com/r/infertility/comments/62j7o8/info_post_why_did_my_embryo_transfer_or_fet_fail/ Some is a bit US-centric, but nevertheless quite helpful.
