FET TWW anyone?

I've just had my first FET yesterday, lovely consultant who transferred our blast smoothly, so feeling quite positive and hopeful. Unmedicated cycle but now added progesterone pessaries. Anyone else waiting? xx

Hi @wombats I'm currently in the tww and take my test Friday x

wombats · 18/03/2018 14:13

Hi @Kjackson02, how are you getting on? I'm only one day post transfer and already looking for symptoms Blush Had a failed fresh transfer in Sept so hoping for better luck this go. Have you cycled before?

OP posts:
Kjackson02 · 18/03/2018 14:45

No this is my first cycle I'm on day 7 of the transfer and I also am looking for symptoms however I have read that there won't be any as it's far too early so just holding on to that and trying to be positive as hcg only started being released yesterday so I have read here:

Thanks for that! Honestly feel like a loon wondering whether I'm feeling anything now. How are you keeping busy? Are you taking progesterone pessaries? I've started them yesterday, in the back passage and I've got mahooosive trapped wind.

Kjackson02 · 18/03/2018 15:56

We have all felt like loons Lol I think it's part of doing this! But I feel that information I uploaded has helped keep me a bit more sane! Yeah I am doing them twice a day they aren't too bad but I did feel extremely bloated when I first started x

becky114 · 18/03/2018 18:35

Hi ladies, hope you don't mind me crashing. My transfer is on Wednesday so fingers crossed everything goes well. I am having the progesterone pessaries also but they go in the front as opposed to the back, I hope I'm doing it right. Xxx

wombats · 18/03/2018 21:13

welcome @becky114! Fingers crossed for a smooth transfer for you. I used the pessaries in the front for my first go. I think they're meant to be pushed way up high and then you should lay down for 20 minutes or so. Found the dripping a bit and ruined all of my knickers! Consultant told me they were equally effective in either place, and I've found the bum a bit easier with no leaking, etc. Is this your first transfer?

kjackson, hope my bloating settles too, I tend to really puff up and my colleagues always look at my tummy thinking I'm upduffed Hmm

OP posts:
becky114 · 19/03/2018 08:52

I might give the bum a go then lol 😂 it's just I have been super constipated since retrieval and didn't know if that would make it worse. Literally haven't been in 3 days, and I have got to try and go before transfer because I don't want to after and push embryo out!!! Not sure if that's possible but just in case.

Do you get bloated after the transfer to, or is this mainly after retrieval?

I'm 28, me and my husband have been trying for just over 3 years. This is our first round of IVF with ICSI and we are hoping and praying for some good luck. I only had 6 eggs retrieved but all have fertilised and split into 4 cells. Embryologist states there are 4 in particular that look really good so I'm having a day 5 transfer, I can't wait to have them back inside of me xxx

PonyPals · 19/03/2018 11:16

Like kjack I am also in the dreaded 2ww. I made the mistake and POAS at 8dp5dt and it is a BFN.
I am meant to have the beta on Friday but we clinic is letting me test one day earlier but I don't have any hope I think.

You don't get any issues after transfer. It happens very very quickly.

becky114 · 19/03/2018 13:18

Can someone please explain what the 8dp etc means. I see it everywhere but I don't understand it xxx

Kjackson02 · 19/03/2018 16:30

@PonyPals don't be disheartened just yet I spoke to my clinic today and they have said it's far too early to test and to wait until the day they tell you to test so your not out yet, remain positive xx

wombats · 19/03/2018 20:40

@becky114, the dp=days post and dt=day transfer. So 2dp5dt is two days after a five day transfer. Most people have a transfer at 3 or 5 days. Have you had an update from the embryologist today? Just two more sleeps for you xx

Pony, sorry you've not got your positive yet. Friday is still four days away, I was tol by my clinic to keep on with medications until official test day. Is this your first transfer?

How are you getting on today, kjackson?

AFM, I'm 2dp5dt, still massively windy. Otherwise just feeling a dull ache in the bottom of my belly, almost like it's bruised...but trying hard not to obsess over every little twinge, but I reckon that's impossibleConfused

PonyPals · 19/03/2018 23:38

Thanks @wombats
What ever you do don't test early in your 2ww!!!
This is my second transfer but first FET. My very first transfer is now a gorgeous 2.5 year old. So I know I am extremely lucky. I think that's why I just assumed this FET would work!
Getting my beta tomorrow (clinic said I can come in a day early!)

becky114 · 20/03/2018 08:55

@wombats has your bloating settled down yet my lovely? I had a call from the embryologist yesterday who told me that sadly one of my eggs has slowed down, the word she used was 'died' but then she said it wouldn't be discarded yet and would be given a chance to catch up. So I don't know in regards to that poor Emby. The other 5 are still going strong and there's 2 now in particular that look good. She said that they are at 8 cell and 16 cell, which from looking online is the stage before blastocyst. I'm really hoping there's a good one to put back and a couple to freeze just in case this round does not work. How have you found FET as opposed to IVF.?

@PonyPals The best of luck with your beta tomorrow, I hope and pray you get a positive outcome. My clinic said it was common to get negatives on home pregnancy tests because they don't read the hcg hormone as good the blood tests you do in clinic. They advise not to test early because sometimes you get false negatives and also false positives from the trigger shots.

I tested this out this morning just out of curiosity. Did a pregnancy test and it gave a false positive (definitely not pregnant). Basically the hcg is still in my system from trigger. I'm going to remind myself of this every time I get tempted to test early. After beta do they tell you straight away or call you later?

@Kjackson02 Good luck for Friday, again sending hopes, prayers and positive thoughts your way. Thankyou for the upload will keep looking over that during my 2ww which starts tomorrow.

I can't wait to have my embryo back inside me, I feel protective already and can't help think that that could be my baby!!!! I get a picture, and we are paying for a video which shows how it divides xxx

becky114 · 21/03/2018 13:36

We were lucky enough to transfer an amazing grade 5 embryo which had already started hatching!!! We have one suitable for freezing and there may be two suitable for freezing by the end of the day!!!! So this means we get another go free or ideally a sibling in the future!!! Xxx

Kjackson02 · 21/03/2018 16:06

Congrats @becky114 we had the same grade transferred and test Friday! I have everything crossed for you good luck x

Kjackson02 · 21/03/2018 19:28

Have any of you been taking your bbt whilst in your 2 week wait?

wombats · 21/03/2018 20:21

Congrats on the hatching blast @becky114! Fab that it's back inside of you! When is your test day?

@Kjackson02, just two more sleeps! how are you feeling? I'm not doing BBT, are you? I thought perhaps the hormones would make it less reliable?

AFM, wind is much better, thank goodness! Now just trying not to overanalyse everything. Had some dull aches in my womb for the first two days, then a bit of period cramps yesterday and today. By this point, it's either worked or not, so can only cross my fingers. Read online that a hatching blast can have almost 70% success, but trying not to get too hopeful.

Sending loads of good thoughts and crossed fingers to all xxx

Kjackson02 · 21/03/2018 20:38

Well no but I did do it the last 3 days and now it has suddenly dropped this morning which has sent me in to panic mode and thinking it hasn't worked and spent most the day crying! I'm actually dreading doing the test Friday as fearing it will be negative xx

PonyPals · 21/03/2018 21:28

Didn't work for me it's a BFN.
Good luck to the rest of you xxx

Kjackson02 · 21/03/2018 21:29

Sorry to hear that @PonyPals hope your ok xx

wombats · 21/03/2018 22:02

@Ponypals, so sorry to hear this. Can you take some time for yourself in the next days?

@Kjackson, I read the hormones will affect your temp so it's not reliable at all, makes sense to me. But I absolutely understand the anxiety. I've also spent most of the last 72 hours googling symptoms Blush The waiting is just rubbish xx

OP posts:
becky114 · 22/03/2018 08:23

@PonyPals I'm so sorry this is happening to you. I appreciate that there's nothing that any of us can say to make you feel better. However, I hope you feel better with time and find the strength to continue in your journey in becoming a mum.

@Kjackson02 Good luck for tomorrow! Is it your beta tomorrow? Or are you testing early? If not an early test how have you avoided doing so? I am so tempted to test next Wednesday.

@wombats My beta is next Friday, I didn't realise you were considered in the two week wait from egg retrieval lol. I'm so scared to do anything in case it dislodges the embryo, I also have really bad acid!!!! Everyone talks of cramping which I know is a good sign and I'm worried because I don't feel a thing! Hope this changes over the next few days

Xxxxx

Kjackson02 · 22/03/2018 18:48

@becky114 thank you, tomorrow is my official test day and I have had to try so hard not to test early just hope it was worth it xx

wombats · 22/03/2018 19:13

@Kjackson02, got everything crossed for you! Please let us know how you get on tomorrow! Do you do a home test or beta blood test?

@Becky, I was nervous about that too! I was told to think of the embryo like a grain of rice and the womb like a thick shag carpet. Nearly impossible to dislodge it once it's implanted. My consultant actually said it's better to keep up your regular activity to have good blood flow to the womb. But I am still massively cautious!

I've had a bit more cramping this morning, and a bit of sharp pain on my side. I didn't have these with my failed fresh transfer so not sure what to think. Desperate to test but don't want to be disappointed too early. I am doing natural cycle so I'd be due on Monday, will probably test on the weekend. I thought I'd feel more relaxed but the anxiety seems to be getting worse the closer I get to test day Confused

Sending good thoughts to all xxx
