IVF Struggles

Hi everyone,

I wanted to start this chat as 2 days ago I had 2 (yes 2) 8 cell embryo transferred on day 3. I am really struggling on finding positivity for the first time during the whole journey after finding out the remaining 9 embryos are not good enough for freezing.

This is our first IVF cycle, after battling infertility for the past 8 years. Any advice and positive stories will be highly appreciated.

Hi @Chippyoik1, no positive story here I'm afraid but in a similar boat of lots of embryos and only two crappy quality ones at the end of it all and got a BFN.

My positive note is that NICE guidelines recommend 3 cycles for a reason and often your meds need tweaking etc so don't be disheartened that cycle one hasn't gone as you hoped. But also - you're not out yet xxxx

I'm sorry to hear you got a negative result @hoping2018 it's such a difficult time, but you do sound positive which is inspiring to hear. I'm learning how to deal with the emotions day by day. I breezed through the treatment itself, I thought I was out the woods - obvs Not!

Have you have 1 cycles of IVF in total also? I wasn't aware that women were advised 3 rounds for that reason.

It's a expensive and emotional journey but hopefully it will be worth it for us both 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼xx

3 cycles. £20k spent. Beautiful 6 month old asleep upstairs. Sometimes I have to pinch myself. I wish you well.

Those are fantastic positive stories to hear @justanotheruser and congratulations on your bundle of joy. I'm praying I will be in the same position one day x

OMG ladies, I am actually pregnant 😁 we found out a few days ago. This sounds crazy but I'm still in shock? is this a normal feeling? I honestly didn't think I was lucky enough to get a positive. I guess after years of negative results your body take over and protects itself.

Any advice for a first time mammy 4 weeks pregnant would be great xx
