How long did it take your doctor to prescribe clomid?

Was TTC for two years before having DD had very irregular periods and often didn't know if I had ovulated. Went to my doctors numerous times but clomid was never mentioned. Most of the time it was just doctor reassuring me it could take a while. Just wondered if that is normal practice as heard since of many people starting on it after ttc for just one year. Planning to try for DC2 soon and if my cycles are still irregular would ideally like to ask my doctor for help sooner if it is needed. Just wondered for those who had it how long had you been trying/ having irregular cycles before it was prescribed?

I self referred to the fertility clinic at 16 months ttc as my gp wasn't sympathetic either. I was put on clomid about 2-3 months later. I was found to have pco (not pcos) and irregular cycles 28-39 days.

I went to the gp after 1 year of ttc. Did the d21 blood tests and as they were rubbish she gave me Clomid for the next cycle. I have a great GP though

I was TTC for some time, went to my GP and sent me for 21 day blood test too, came back negative and prescribed me clomid then and there. My GP has been amazing about the whole thing so cant knock him

Thank you everyone now when I think back to the doctor appointments I don't think I was 'pushy enough.' My cycles were really long ranging between 40 to 45 days with one cycle being 63 days. The doctor just kept saying it can take a while. The month I got pregnant with DD was the only month in the whole two years I had a normal cycle. I OV on cd13. Did you manage to get pregnant whilst on clomid? And how long did it take? If you don't mind me asking? Obviously I will see how my cycles are before seeing a doctor but am not going to wait two years again.

We had to have been ttc for 2 years (12 months if 35+) before being referred for tests. After it was determined that I wasn’t ovulating, we were prescribed Clomid.

I was prescribed Clomid at fertility clinic (waited 4 months from GP referral to appointment after day 21 tests done by GP).
Took 50mg for 2 cycles then upped to 100mg for next 4.
Not pregnant and waiting to have another IVF attempt, however I do know people who've had success with Clomid, hope you are one of them!

My 21 day test was taken on the wrong day and therefore we found that I was ovulating so I didn’t need to take the Clomid, it’s sitting in my cupboard. We were found to have MFI so we are on our way to Greece next month for IVF, my CCG won’t fund women over 34

No it didn't work for me. And I don't have PCOS.
