IVF Leeds

Hello Ladies,

I’m wondering if anyone has gone thru IVF Leeds privately? I was referred by Alturi (egg donor agency) for donor IVF and am wondering how long of a wait there is. I understand the NHS time frames can be quite lengthy with them. But am hoping private goes a bit faster?

I'm near there and going via nhs. I've been told 'there is no waiting list'.

We've been trying clomid and will probably need more tests as they I haven't had any since last July. But appointment to start that process is in a couple weeks.

I’m going through Leeds but via Cyprus for donor eggs. They are twinned with Crown Ivf.
Did u start already or still considering?
Happy to chat x

Is this Seacroft Hospital in Leeds?

rainbowgrimm · 23/05/2018 19:20

The 'twinning' is really interesting, we've been sent back to general gynae for surgery before going back to Seacroft towards the end of the year. I didn't know they partnered with any overseas clinics, is it just the one in Cyprus or any others does anyone know?

rainbowgrimm · 23/05/2018 20:16

A bit of googling shows the Cyprus clinics are 'twinned' with the general gynae department at Nuffield private hospital for scans & bloods rather than genesis (Seacroft) for anyone that's interested.

I'm with Seacroft... haven't started yet though. Just waiting for af, but haven't ovulated yet, so it's still a ways off for me!

A wave to @physicskate we're both on the IVF June July thread and I to am at Seacroft. I've found any consultations I've had at the hospital to be informative and the staff lovely but I've been down regging a week and I half expected a call or an email to check I'm getting on ok but I am NHS and they're strapped so I'm just grateful I'm getting the treatment at all and I'm sure if I had any issues they'd be happy to help. For us it was a year between our first appt and starting but the delays were mostly specific to us. Fingers crossed for us all.

physicskate · 25/05/2018 15:41

@theartfulscreamer - I am cycling there through yorkshire fertility, so haven't been yet. DH froze a sample there and was very impressed they had porn. His samples for his SA apparently only had a picture of a waterfall... His priorities are... interesting.... But he said it was really nice inside.

If you need a handhold, I'm here!!

notpastaagain · 25/05/2018 20:15

We've been through IVF fresh and frozen cycles with Seacfroft. 1st was on NHS (2yr old DD), then others privately. There was never any waiting time privately (apart from waiting for period!). Couldn't recommend it enough - we've being with Mrs H from the start.

Confuzzlediddled · 25/05/2018 20:26

I'm under Mrs h at Seacroft for gynae reasons and I would happily say you are in very safe hands xx

TheArtfulScreamer · 26/05/2018 09:32

@physickate I'll tell my DH that I'm sure he'll be pleased Grin when he did his SA it was at Airedale and you're supposed to do it at home (as they don't have a room) and then take it in but because of where we live we'd have been to far away for an accurate result so he had to try and do it sneakily in a layby nearby, I was terrified he was going to get arrested as some sort of sex offender Blush.
I hope when you do go to Seacroft you find it good I'm next there on the 4th June.

physicskate · 26/05/2018 10:21

I just go to Seacroft for EC and transfer - probably towards the end of June?? Everything else is done at Halifax (scans and bloods), which is an absolute hike! We live other side of Leeds, but it's a long story as to why we're doing it this way!! Not the MOST convenient, but it's our NHS round, so I'm not complaining (much).

Might go straight to Seacroft for cycle 2, or see how it goes through Yorkshire fertility... I'm not counting any chickens, so to speak, so expecting cycle one to fail.

TheArtfulScreamer · 26/05/2018 12:04

Ours is NHS to and will likely be our one and only round. It's a hike for us to go to Seacroft as we live in the dales but hopefully it'll all be worth it and if it doesn't work out at least by the end of the year we'll know where we are at and can deal with our situation whatever that may be.

notpastaagain · 27/05/2018 12:17

Just as an aside, we decided to go through Access Fertilty at Seacroft this time. I'm 38 and they offered 3 fresh cycles and unlimited frozen for £10,000. They only count a live birth as a success. If you're not successful, they refund £5000. It's definitely taken the pressure off us, especially as we often get a good amount of eggs to Day 5, get a bfp but then experience early miscarriages. We also managed to keep our consultant, Mrs H, which was the clincher. If you're going private, it might be something to consider.

Watching this thread with interest as we’ve just started with Yorkshire Fertility.

Mesh0603 · 29/05/2018 19:05

Is anyone going through Leeds as a single mum by choice? I'm looking to build a new network x
