FSH is slightly raised, but not bad. Could be a sign of your body finding it slghtly harder to ovulate - meaning perhaps slightly lower egg reserves than the average 30 year old. How old are you?

And you don't have PCOS.

There is nothing that needs to be done. Honestly, it's fine...

Nobody is 'average' remember - most people slightly above or sightly below.

Additionally FSH can vary a bit month on month. It doesn't mean anything really, but is a VAGUE indication of ovarian reserve.

THANKS so much muchfor the reply
If I’m not ovulating can they do anything about it? Or does this fsh level not cause concern? I’m so confused!

If your cd21 came back fine it means you did ovulate that cycle. So stop thinking like that. But yes, there are drugs that can make you ovulate (clomid being the most common).

Your FSH doesn't cause concern. You're not confused - you're just freaking out. As I explained there is no need to freak out.

You honestly should have just waited for the doc's appointment if there was any chance you were going to feel like that... honestly, your results aren't bad!!!!!!!!!!

Redrosebelle · 23/02/2018 11:55

I am freaking out. Massively! I explained to my drs how concerned I was but as usual they didn’t really listen..
I’ve had progesterone measured a couple of times and those results have always been above 30 iirc.
Thanks so much physicskate you’ve helped to calm me down.

Nurse phoned and said my FSH is fine but LH is low Confused

FirstTimerIVF · 23/02/2018 15:46

Your LH is about where it should be on CD3. Odd thing for a nurse to say. They look at the ratio of FSH to LH as an indication of possible PCOS but it doesn't work in reverse ie LH much higher than FSH thrn possible PCOS, no problem if LH in normal range and lower / similar to FSH. Or at least that's my understanding.

Redrosebelle · 23/02/2018 16:53

Having googled again the nurse said she was assuming I was in my ‘peak’ phase of cycle which would be after ovulation I think? If that LH was around ovulation I think it would be low. The nurse didn’t really seem to know what she was on about.
So yeah I agree that LH seems normal.
But things I have read online seem to say an fsh level over 9 is fair or poor. Wonder if this is why it’s taking longer ttc baby 2? I phoned the hospital and got an appt with my gynaecologist for next Wednesday. Ironically it’s also my birthday!!

Bumping again for the evening posters

Fsh is meant to below 10 which yours is. Over that and it means you’re finding it harder to ovulate so prob have low ovarian reserve.

However- yours isn’t over 10.

Even if it was - mine was 12 when I was 34 and I’ve been pregnant 3 times and had 2 live births since. Egg reserve only tells you about egg numbers and not egg quality - which is what counts for getting pregnant. At 30 your eggs are probably fine.

Redrosebelle · 24/02/2018 07:49

Thank you so much for the reply! I found on google it generally says the same thing. But is it a bad thing that mine is almost 10, or do I read the result and say, hey my result is under 10 so I’m fine!
I should add more info probably. I have regular 27-28 day cycles with a luteal phase of 13 days. My periods are not light or abnormal in any way, except quite painful. All my day 21 tests seem fine (prog over 30) I just don’t know why the dr needs to speak to me if everything is ok?

The lower it is the better, so yes you should take it as a warning to get on with things, but you are doing that anyway, and like I say, mine was 12 - and you’re only 30.

Redrosebelle · 16/03/2018 16:13

Just wanted to update anyone’s who comes across this in the future. I’m pregnant now, it happened the following cycle. Grin

Hi @Redrosebelle I know this is an old thread but my day 3 results have come back pretty much identical to yours and I’m panicking. Please can you let me know how long it took you to conceive in the end?
