So I had my first appointment with the go today. After 2 plus years of trying to conceive. Went on told the dr my story and she was like ok you need 21 day bloods done and oh needs a sperm analysis. Said she would refer me to the gyn dept. She also stayed I don't need to go back and see her?is this normal??slso said it will be about a year for the referral.

Everyone will have different experiences due to location as GPs tend to do things differently in different areas. However I was first referred early Jan last year, had blood tests straight away. DH had sperm analysis early Feb, I had ultrasound scan mid Feb and our 1st appt with fertility clinic was end of Feb. So about 8 weeks from referral to appointment. 1 year seems like a awfully long time however that may just be what the waiting list is in your area unfortunately.

I haven’t been back to the GP since no my treatment is now being managed by the fertility clinic. Hope that helps.
