Anyone based in the UK about the head down (or have been down or are currently on) the IVF route via the NHS? I would love to hear from you! 😍

Morning! I am based in the NE UK and have just been referred for IVF so just waiting for my first app (which could be 18 weeks away!).

We have been trying since early 2013 and we have done it all ..... injectables, clomid, pessaries, X-rays, ovarian drilling! I have PCOS and even though my body has reacted really well (far too well some months) to the gonal-f injections we have never had a positive so decided to take the plunge and ask to be referred onwards!

I am actually still fairly positive about it all (I have melt downs ever now and then) - when I was taking gonal-f and hcg shot my body loved producing eggs so I am hoping these guys can just pick out my best ones and set them up with my DH best swimmers! Et voila .... easy as that!! 😬

Up until now I have always just lurked in the background of these forums reading everyone else's experiences but felt it was about time I got involved as I have been through a lot and may be able pass on some words of wisdom!!

Looking forward to chatting to you all xxx

Hi Ivy - I'm also based in the North East and although I would be doing any treatment privately, if I stayed in the UK would go to QEH. Currently deciding between home / abroad. Which hospital are you with?

@FirstTimerIVF I have opted to go to the Centre For Life! I have heard both QEH & CFL are excellent! Think they work very closely together and lead the way with a lot treatments! Feel very lucky to have them just around the corner! Where are you living?
