Good evening all,

This is my first post so bare with me,

I just wondered if anyone had any advice how to track ovulation with PCOS. I brought the one step OPK packets from EBay as they were cheap, I've only had a slight faint line but I don't think it's actually anything. My periods are all over the place so for example my last 4 cycles were 66, 40, 32 & my last one 54, what day/s do you reckon I should start from? And I test between 5-8pm do you think I need to do one after lunch time?

I have been diagnosed in the last 5 Years with Endometriosis too, so I suppose panicking about falling pregnant doesn't help 😫

Are you under the care of a gynaecologist currently? You ought to be given the previous diagnosis of endometriosis as well.

I would not use OPKs to track ovulation because they are not recommended to use if PCOS is present. OPKs measure LH: if this hormone level is elevated to start with (as it often is with PCOS) the kit reads that and therefore gives an inaccurate result. They are really not worth using. What would give you an accurate result would be blood tests to see what your hormone levels are like; LH and FSH are two that should be tested with regards to PCOS.
