Clomid month 2

Hi ladies,

So I have just finished month 2 of Clomid (50mg days 2-5). Currently CD 8.

The first round worked, apparently I ovulated as my day 21 bloods shown a progesterone level of 37. I also had a positive opk on CD 15 and a rise in temp soon after. We BD every day during fertile period.

Might sound like a really stupid question but why, then, did I not get pregnant?!
DH sperm count is ok (on borderline for morphology but count is very high) Iv had a HSG and tubes clear. Been TTC for 2 years and never had a bfp.

I’m excited for round 2 of Clomid but also lost ALOT of hope!

Please someone cheer me up!

Everything can be perfect and you still not get pregnant unfortunately. It can just take a bit of time. Clomid worked for me with DS2, best of luck!

I'm currently 36 weeks pregnant with my clomid baby whom we conceived on month 2. Hang in there and keep trying!

Emily100889 · 15/01/2018 18:44

Anxietyforever did you ovulate on cycle 1 too but just not conceive? Can I also ask if you had any symptoms before your BFP as my last cycle I had the worst cramps/sore boobs but I guess it was just the Clomid!

I’m worried we were dtd too much in cycle 1 as it was every day so we are going to try every other day for this cycle!

Malbec, what cycle number did you conceive on with Clomid?

Thankyou to you both for taking the time to reply and congrats to you both!

I'm on clomid cycle 4. I've ovulated on each one. Still not pregnant. Was told at my last appointment to prepare for IVF. This shouldn't be news to you that it's pot luck.

AnxietyForever · 15/01/2018 19:46

Yes I ovulated on cycle 1 too but just didn't catch on that month. I had 0 symptoms before my bfp, Infact I was very surprised it worked as I used to have symptoms before but never pregnant.

Emily100889 · 15/01/2018 19:55

Physicskate, what dose are you on?
Have you had any other tests to find out why it hasn’t worked yet for you?
I was told I had to do 6 round then IVF but I’m going to try 4 and then move on. I have never ever had a bfp in 2 years of trying so I feel that something more must be up!

Anxietyforever, did you suffer from any other issues? And how long were you TTC for? You have given me a glimmer of hope for round 2...thankyou

I had two chemical pregnancies during my first 12 months ttc. At 22 months ttc now. Very few tests, but they did find polycystic ovaries (but are not willing to diagnose pcos or do the other tests necessary to get a diagnosis). 50 mg. Long cycles which could be a bit irregular (28-39 days, avg 35 days), are now 30 days and ov is bang on cd 16 each clomid cycle.

Emily100889 · 16/01/2018 07:29

Physicskate, sounds like you have really been through it. Has your OH been checked? My DH has borderline SA which dr said was ‘ok’ and my tubes are clear so they are putting us in that hideous unexplained category!

I’m pushing for a lap and dye as I think I might have endometriosis which has felt worse since taking Clomid

He's 'not the issue' according to the consultant. However, we still haven't seen the results (from July? August?)...

They won't test my tubes as I've never had chlamydia (according to the blood test they did), nor abdominal surgery. So consultant is certain that can't be a problem.

I mean, I know it's the NHS and how stretched they are, but why offer the service if there is such a poor standard of care? Why push me onto IVF when it may take a much less expensive test/ procedure to help??

Fed up. And really nothing has really even begun!!!

Emily100889 · 16/01/2018 18:08

I feel the exact same!
Had my first appointment 6 months ago at which the dr said I’d be pregnant by Christmas because he couldn’t find anything wrong. Well I wasn’t. At the end of December at my next appointment he said I’d be pregnant probably on my first round of Clomid. I wasn’t.

Since then my sister, brother in law and my best friend have all become pregnant after a few months of trying. I’m older than them all and still NOTHING because clearly something is wrong!!!!! I don’t know how I’m the only one to see that it shouldn’t take 2-3 years to have a baby!!!

We were ttc for around 2 years, we had 1 MC at 5 ish weeks, DH sperm analysis was fine. Fingers crossed the clomid works for you! I was prescribed 3 months worth and by looking at the stats- it can take upto 6 months to catch on with clomid too. Fingers crossed

Dolwar · 17/01/2018 22:48

I'm on month 1 of clomid, had terrible night sweats so I'm praying it'll work and I don't have to take it again. Doing OPKs and CD11 today but nothing on OPKs. Cycle usually 28 days. My D21 progesterone was only 12 pre-clomid so I'll be having it checked again D24 this month (can't do D23 cos of work and D21 and 22 are the weekend) and I'll see if it works. DH has got a sample pot for him on the kitchen worksurface.......

Emily100889 · 18/01/2018 07:33

Dolwar, I remember you from my last post. Did you end up taking the 150 dose? My side effects are bad enough with the 50mg so you have my sympathy! Iv got bloods booked again for d22 as d21 is a Sunday.
My hubby was a nightmare at getting his sperm checked. I had to throw a full on strop to get him to do it. It came back ok but not amazing so he is on vitamins now.
